The team at Edmonds & Slatter Opticians have challenged themselves to raise enough money for Guide Dogs over the next two years to “Name a Puppy” and so far are doing incredibly well.
With the first year not even complete they are over half way to the £2500 target. The independent opticians have been working towards their target by collecting in-store donations, selling pin badges and organising charity events.
Staff, families, patients and friends of Edmonds & Slatter Opticians took part in a sponsored “Dogs Unite” walk around a Blaby park this October which was very well attended. On the same day the niece of a staff member ran the Leicester half marathon and donated her sponsorship money to the cause.
More recently the Blaby and Lutterworth practices held their annual Christmas Lights open evenings, both selling raffle tickets and taking donations towards Guide Dogs. The Blaby practice had a visit from Olaf & Elsa of Frozen fame while the Lutterworth practice were lucky enough to meet Lester the Guide Dog and Buddy the Guide Dog Ambassador.
The fund raising will continue well into 2017 at Edmonds & Slatter Opticians. Please visit any of their practices at Blaby, Glenfield or Lutterworth if you would like to make a donation.
