Edmonds & Slatter Opticians held an exclusive celebration night at their practice in Blaby last month. Champagne and canapés were served throughout the evening as they celebrated 25 years since they first opened their doors to the public.
Colleagues, staff members both past and present, local businesses and a number of patients were invited. It was also a lot of people’s first chance to have a good look around at the newly refurbished practice which has a distinctive modern feel to it. Guests were able to look at the new technology installed at the practice including a unique computerised measuring system for Varilux lenses used to produce bespoke varifocals and many also had a “behind the scenes” tour of the spectacle glazing laboratory which has also recently been refitted.
Mr Tim Cole, partner, said “We tried to contact as many patients as we could who had been with us since the very first year but couldn’t find everybody as it was so long ago and long before computers were commonly used!”
With the progression of technology, who knows what Edmonds & Slatter will be able to achieve in another 25 years time.
