On Sunday the 7th of August the entire staff of Edmonds & Slatter Opticians spent a day at Leicester racecourse to celebrate the companies 25th year in business.
At over 100 years old, Leicester racecourse itself provided a spectacular venue for a wonderful afternoon. Staff were treated to an excellent view of the finishing line from their executive box above the 4,000 other spectators.
In the paddock before the race some of the ladies of Edmonds & Slatter, along with Optometrist Saagar Hirani, were able to judge a ‘Best Turned Out’ horse from the Edmonds & Slatter sponsored 25th Anniversary handicap stakes.
On the track, it was an afternoon to remember for ‘We’ll deal Again’ who won the race and who’s owners were later presented with a silver photo frame by Optometrist, Isabelle Durand.
The day had begun with two thrilling photo-finishes that not even the eagle-eyed opticians could call and ended with a burst of rain as everyone headed home. Most people made a few pounds but no one won enough to retire early and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Here’s to the next 25 years!
