Edmonds & Slatter Opticians held their annual Christmas night at their Blaby and Lutterworth practices last week. The events were timed to coincide with the local Christmas lights being switched on. Mince pies, wine and goodie bags were enjoyed along with two charity raffles for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund and Hope Against Cancer.
The Blaby practice had an unprecedented line outside to enter. This was possibly due to the fact they had Princess Elsa, Olaf Snowman and Harrison Gamble of The Leicester Riders inside, all giving up their time to meet and greet everyone for charity.
Partner Tim Cole said “It was a great night and fantastically busy. It was lovely to see everyone in a festive mood and raising so much money for charity. Thank you to all our volunteers, events like these would not be possible without them”
Harrison Gamble selected the winning tickets for Blaby’s raffle which raised £249.10 for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund. The Lutterworth practice raised a brilliant £83.01 for Hope Against Cancer that night.
The Blaby practice was lucky enough to win first place in the trader’s shop window competition for the traditional Christmas window display which was designed and constructed by the whole practice team. They are now proudly displaying the winning shield alongside their fireplace scene.
