Edmonds and Slatter opticians hosted their annual Christmas open evenings on 27th November 2015 at their practices in Blaby, Glenfield and Lutterworth. These events were an opportunity for patients and local residents to join the opticians for a drink and a mince pie, and to enjoy the entertainment provided. The practices remained open until 7:30pm with the staff volunteering their free time to help out.
This year was another successful evening with Minions attracting a crowd to the Blaby practice and the Leicester Riders joining the opticians once again. Harrison Gamble and Anthony Rowe spent the evening entertaining the patients after helping 7 year old Leon to switch on the town’s Christmas lights.
Visitors also took part in a charity raffle in aid of Guide Dogs, with prizes of a Kindle e-reader, designer sunglasses or VIP basketball tickets to name a few. The opticians even had representatives from the charity in their Blaby and Lutterworth practices in the form of some adorable guide dogs in training! The fundraising is helping towards Edmonds and Slatter’s target of a £2,500 donation to Guide Dogs, which will enable them to name a guide dog puppy. Edmonds and Slatter would like to thank everyone for their support on the night and wish all of their patients a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
