Edmonds & Slatter Opticians are calling on dog owners in Blaby to make their pet pooch a hero for the day by taking part in Dogs Unite! Dogs Unite is a series of sponsored dog walks taking place around the country to help Guide Dogs raise money to create more life-changing guide dog partnerships. Your dogs can become heroes by fundraising for life-changing guide dogs.

The Dogs Unite event in Blaby, organised by Edmonds & Slatter,  promises fantastic fun for all the family and their pet, who can dress up in a special hero cape! The walk will be taking place on Northfield Park in Blaby on Sunday 23rd of October. Check–in starts from 10:30am where dog capes will be handed out. The walk will start at 11am, rain or shine, and consist of an all abilities two laps of the park. On completion your dog will receive a participation certificate.

Edmonds and Slatter Opticians are currently supporting Guide Dogs as their charity of the year. Every hour, another person in the UK loses their sight and if this happens to you, Guide Dogs is there to make sure you don’t lose your freedom as well. Jess Slatter, Business Manager of Edmonds & Slatter Opticians said: “All dog lovers enjoy taking their lovely pet on fun walks, now they can do that and help Guide Dogs change the lives of people with sight loss. Come along and make your family friend a fundraising hero for the day.”

Edmonds and Slatter are suggesting a £5 donation for each dog/owner taking part which is payable on the day and at registration you can collect an optional sponsor form for your four legged friend. All dogs and owners need to be registered to take part BEFORE the event day. To register your dog please go to the reception desk of Edmonds and Slatter or call 0116 277 7733.
