If you suffer from discomfort, burning, stinging, itchiness or grittiness (foreign body sensation) you may have dry eyes. A dry eye can often become red, watery and sore due to the over secretion of fluid resulting in poor quality tears. This can make the eyes tired, sore and disturb the clarity of vision.
Dry eye symptoms occur when there is a problem with the tears that lubricate the surface of the eye. Dry eye can affect us at any age but is more common as we get older and can be associated with prescribed medication or certain health conditions.
We run a Dry Eye Clinic to help diagnose and manage your symptoms where other avenues of investigation may not have been successful. This is a private specialist service as the clinical examination techniques used during the examination are outside the scope of a standard/NHS sight. You will be asked to complete a short questionnaire prior to being examined by our Optometrists to assist them in evaluating the cause of your dry eye symptoms.
If you are on any of our Eye-plans or contact lens aftercare plan this service is included in your fees. Please contact us for further information.
