Eye Examination

Eye examination

The eye examination is at the core of the service we provide. You will be seen by a fully qualified registered Ophthalmic Optician providing the highest standard of care and attention.

The eye examination is a comprehensive test starting with your medical and family history of eye problems.  Typically, your Optometrist will then perform a series of tests to check your eye health, vision, field of vision, the pressure inside your eyes and how well your eyes work together.  We check for colour blindness, glaucoma, diabetes and a range of other health conditions.  Other tests may also be performed depending on your individual needs.  You can expect your appointment to last between 25-35 minutes for an adult sight test.

Your Optometrist will advise on how often you should have your eyes tested.  For most people, it’s every two years but some groups of people may require an eye test more frequently, for example children or those with certain medical conditions.

Eye examinations are available for everyone, regardless of age or individual needs.  Many people are eligible for a sight test free of charge on the NHS and we will be happy to advise if this is the case when we take your call.
