At Edmonds & Slatter Opticians, we are proud to deliver the highest standard of patient eye care, and we are delighted to welcome Lindsay-Leigh Scott to our experienced optometry team. Lindsay is now one of our resident Optometrists, working across our Blaby, Lutterworth and Kibworth practices. Interestingly, her journey with Edmonds & Slatter began as a patient at our Lutterworth practice.

Five members of the Edmonds & Slatter team stepped out in support of LOROS Hospice last month, raising more than £1,000 while completing the charity’s annual Twilight Walk through Leicester. Linda, Carol, Emily, Natasha and Amy joined thousands of supporters on Saturday 20 June for the 10K Glitter and Glow themed Twilight Walk, which started and finished at De Montfort University’s Vijay Patel Building and took participants through the heart of Leicester and around Victoria Park.

Edmonds & Slatter Opticians are delighted to announce that Jodie Lyon, Practice Manager and Contact Lens Optician at the Lutterworth practice, has been named Employee of the Month for June. Jodie has been recognised by both colleagues and patients for her consistently exceptional approach to patient care and her ability to make every individual feel genuinely welcome from the moment they walk through the door.

Edmonds & Slatter Opticians has invested in another advanced piece of technology, further enhancing our ability to diagnose and manage dry eye conditions. With the increasing use of digital devices, dry eye symptoms have become more common than ever. One of the leading causes is Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD), a condition where the glands along the eyelids become blocked. These tiny glands, located just behind the lashes, play a vital role in producing the oily layer of the tear film. When they are not functioning properly, tears can evaporate too quickly, leading to dryness, irritation, and discomfort.

Edmonds & Slatter Opticians are proud to celebrate a significant milestone as Cathy Dallimore, Optometrist at their Lutterworth practice, marks 20 years of dedicated service. A familiar and friendly face to generations of patients, Cathy has become synonymous with the Lutterworth practice.

We’ve recently added a new piece of equipment to our mobile corporate eye examination kit. We now have a fully automatic, portable retinal (fundus) camera. This exciting addition allows us to carry out a more comprehensive examination of the back of the eye (retina) during on‑site visits, without employees needing to leave the workplace. As a result, we can detect and assess more clinical findings immediately, reducing unnecessary referrals into practice and helping employees receive quicker reassurance or intervention where needed.
